On July 12, 2017 VGA chinese manufacturer Colorful announced its new water-cooled iGame GTX1080Ti Neptune W video card. based on their proprietary designed NVidia GeForce GTX1080Ti video card, the Neptune W sports a custom PCB layout with a pre-installed water-cooled on top of the GPU chip which in turn is attached to a massive 240mm external radiator through 2 (inlet and outlet) rubber black flexible tubes. The radiator, presumably in Aluminum to contain the costs and weight, has two 120mm fans with semi-transparent blades, probably sporting some colored LEDs.
With 3584 CUDA cores, the video card will run at a base frequency of 1594MHz with a boost clock of up to 1708MHz. GDDR5X memory modules were fitted on the VGA PCB, running at 11Gbps for a better gaming performance. Let’s see the integrated cooling solution, now…
The cooler gets the name of “Shielizer Cooler”, and apart from sporting a nice looking cover plate with integrated LEDs, it also has an aluminum plate covering the PCB, taking care of structural support and also being an active part of the cooling process as well.
In fact, the main body of the cooler resembles what we are already used to see in similar cooling solutions: a central cylindrical enclosure, housing the pump and installed on top of the GPU. The main difference is that from it and to it run 2 copper pipes, which should absorb the heat of other components on the VGA like mosfets and VRMs, passing directly on top of them.
The fans are directly connected to the motherboard, and the iGame-Zone II software controls them and checks temperatures and voltages of the VGA.
Priced at approximately 1050 USD, the Video Card is already available on some chinese e-tailers, like JD.com.At the moment of writing, we have n idea of availability or pricing on the European or american markets, we will post an update story as soon as we have confirmed news.
