Two samples from Intels upcoming Skylake-EP Xeons are currently sold at ebay. The 28-core Xeon E5-2600 V5 ist listed at 3750$ for anyone who feels the need to be one of the first owners. Right now only very few Intel partners have access to samples of those processors and the list could get even shorter should Intel be able to identify the one who is selling the chip right now. (If it’s not a marketing stunt or scam).
The listing however, whether genuine or not, does not reveal some groundbreaking news about the upcoming competitor for AMDs Naples chip. At least we’re once again reminded of the sheer size of this chip. Should you consider buying this chip, be advised that you’ll most likely will not be able to use it due to the lack of LGA3647 mainboards available right now.
